Soffit and Fascia Color Combinations:

Exterior Details That MatterWhen it comes to exterior paint, you’re probably most concerned with the color of your siding. But other elements, such as your roof, front door, and trim matter too. If the color of one isn’t quite right, it can throw off the overall look of your home’s exterior and negatively impact its curb appeal. ​

Soffit & fascia: What are they?
​Before we get into our favorite soffit and fascia color combinations, we’re going to explain exactly what these terms mean. Fascia refers to the horizontal board that covers the rafter area below the roof edge. A soffit is the covering for the underside of the eave. In the design above, the fascia color is Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black, and the soffit is wood. ​

Black + white
Black and white is a classic color combination that works well across a variety of home styles. In the design above, the fascia and soffit are both rendered in Benjamin Moore’s Black Beauty, which creates a striking contrast against the stucco in Sherwin Williams’ Panda White. The wood siding and front door add warmth.

Light + bright
​This client wanted their home to have a cottage feel, and the light-and-bright color palette our designers recommended helped achieve that. The fascia and soffit are rendered in Sherwin Williams’ Extra White with Aloof Gray on the siding and Moderne White on the brick. The fascia and soffit colors match the porch columns and railings, creating a cohesive look.

Shades of gray
​The green-gray on this home’s stucco — Sherwin Williams’ Bunglehouse Gray — acts as an excellent backdrop against which the fascia and soffit, both rendered in Benjamin Moore’s Deep River, pop. The fascia and soffit also play nicely with the dark metal roof and matching awnings.

Cream, wood, + black
​Fascia colors and soffit colors are often the same, but that’s not always the case, as seen in the rendering above. For this home, our designers used Sherwin Williams’ Creamy on the fascia and wood paneling for the deep soffit. Creamy is also used on the trim and windows, while the soffit ties into the rest of the home’s wood elements. The dark siding acts as an anchor for the entire design.

Monochromatic + limewashed/whitewashed brick
​By using Benjamin Moore’s Deep Creek on the stucco, trim, fascia, and soffit, our designers created a monochromatic look on a section of this home. When juxtaposed with the limewashed brick, the paint-heavy area stands out and becomes a focal point. The sophisticated brown hue also works well with the home’s faux copper gutters and wood lintels and front door.

Dark and dramatic
​This dark design  with siding is rendered in Sherwin Williams’ Peppercorn, a dark gray neutral, which is paired with an even darker color — Tricorn Black — on the fascia and soffit. We also used Tricorn Black on the garage doors, shutters, and front door.

Warm neutrals
In this version, you'll finds a much lighter palette. The siding is rendered in Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter, which pairs nicely with Cloud White on the accents. ​

White, blue, + wood
​This coastal home exudes beachy vibes thanks to its airy color scheme. Benjamin Moore’s Simply White, a crisp, clean hue, on the fascia and soffit creates just enough contrast with the light blue siding, rendered in Benjamin Moore’s Soft Chinchilla. Both shades look lovely with the washed-out wood accents that are a key component of the beach aesthetic. ​

White + green
​In the design above, the Alabaster-painted fascia and soffit stands out against the green siding, which is rendered in Evergreen Fog by Sherwin Williams, without stealing the show. The columns are rendered in the same color as the fascia and soffit, bringing the light accent hue on down to the stone accents that ground the façade. Overall, the color palette helps the home blend into its wooded surroundings.
